AST (SGOT)
Intended Use:
Test for estimation of SGOT activity in serum / plasma using UV –Kinetic method.
Introduction:
The activity of SGOT (AST) in serum is increased significantly during heart, liver, kidney and muscle disease. The activity of SGOT (AST) is increased in 4-8 hours following a myocardial infarction, reaching its peak in 2-3 days and declining on the fourth- or fifth-day post infarction. SGOT is a reagent set for determination of GOT (AST) in human serum / plasma based on UV Kinetic method, recommended by International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC).
